I still use Craigslist for the UI, it just works. Change for change sake is how we get “modern” interfaces that are bloated and slow. That isn’t progress, it’s just trying to justify a big budget.
HN is clean and fast. It’s a breath of fresh air after being almost anywhere else on the internet. More sites should learn from HN. When a site is small and cheap to run, it doesn’t need to be covered in ads to justify its existence.
